Scheme and Benefits:-
Actually, the name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana. If we talk about the benefits available under the scheme, then the target is to install solar panels on the roofs of the houses of eligible people. This will help in reducing the electricity bill to zero.
At the same time, the second benefit under this scheme will be that 300 units of free electricity per month will be given to the one crore houses on whose roofs the government will install solar panels. This was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the interim budget.
Eligibility of the scheme:-
Poor class and middle-class people will be able to avail of benefits under the Suryodaya Yojana.
The applicant must be an Indian citizen
People whose annual income is less than Rs 1 or 1.5 lakh
People who own their own house
At the same time, those who pay tax will not be eligible
People who do government jobs or have a government officer in their family will also not be eligible for this scheme.
