The Government of India runs many types of schemes, out of which financial benefits are given under some schemes and some other help in some schemes, but the objective of all these schemes is the same and that is to provide benefits to eligible people. For example, one scheme is Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. This scheme is also being run by the Government of India, under which eligible people can install solar panels on which the government also gives subsidies. This helps you save on electricity bills, but can tenants also take advantage of this PM Surya Ghar Yojana? So let's try to know about this scheme without delay and about whether tenants can get its benefit or not. You can know about this in the next slides...
Who can take advantage of the scheme?
If we talk about the eligible people under this scheme, then the benefit of this scheme is given to the middle-class people.
People who have their own house are also given benefits.
People whose annual income is less than Rs 1.5 lakh are eligible.
Can tenants get benefits?
If you are a tenant and want to take advantage of PM Surya Ghar Yojana, then you cannot do so. Only those people can apply under this scheme who have their own house and have an electricity connection in their name. But this does not happen with tenants, so they are considered ineligible.
Actually, under this scheme, solar panels are installed on the roof of people's houses, in which different subsidies are given by the government on installing solar panels of different watts. The government aims to give the benefit of this scheme to one crore people, so that the electricity bills of those people can be zero.
