Many types of activities take place in Kaziranga National Park.
It is located in Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam state. You can plan a trip here with children, family and friends. You will get a chance to do activities like zip safari, elephant safari and boat safari here. If you have not done a zip safari before today, then you should go here once. How to reach Kaziranga National Park?
If you are planning to visit Kaziranga National Park on a low budget, then you can plan this trip by train.
The nearest railway station to Kaziranga National Park is Furkating Junction, 75 km away. You can take trains here from many big cities like Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata. If you do not get a train till here, you can also take a ticket to Jorhat railway station. However, Kaziranga National Park is located at a distance of 240 km and 90 km from Jorhat.
If you are planning to visit the park via flight, then you can take a ticket for Guwahati International Airport or Jorhat Airport. The distance from both the airports to Kaziranga National Park is about 217 km and 97 km. From the airport you can take a cab or taxi directly to the park.
Speciality of Kaziranga National Park
It is spread over a total area of 430 km. It was declared a tiger reserve in the year 2006. In Kaziranga National Park, you will get to see many animals like one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, wild buffaloes, swamp deer, tigers, and different types of bird species, ducks, black-necked storks, leopards, hoolock gibbons and sloth bears.
- When is Kaziranga National Park open? - Every year from 01 May to 31 October, this park remains closed to the general public.
- When is Kaziranga National Park closed? - Every year it is open to the public from 1 November to 30 April.
- Keep in mind- If you are planning a trip here, then keep in mind that from March 8 to March 9, common people will not get entry here. Because during this period Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to be on tour here.
Safari time in Kaziranga National Park
- Jeep Safari- This can be done from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
- Jeep Safari in Afternoon: After morning can be done from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.
Park entry fees
- The entry fee for Indian tourists will be Rs 100 and for foreign tourists will be Rs 650.
- Jeep Safari Fee- The price of safari for Indian tourists is Rs 1500 to 2200 per jeep.
- If you do an elephant safari, its price for Indian tourists is up to Rs 1200.
