How to apply for a passport online:

Go to the Passport Seva website.

Register yourself if you haven't already.

If you already have an account, log in.

After this click on the option “For Fresh Passport/Re-issue”.

Fill in all the details in the application form and click on the “Submit” option.

You can go back to the home page and click on View Saved/Submitted Applications to see what information you have filled in/

Click on “Pay and Schedule Appointment” to book an appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra.

Select the payment option and proceed with payment.

After payment, click on “Print Application Receipt” and download the receipt.

When you have an appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra on the specified day, make sure you bring all the original documents with you. These include:

For a passport, carry proof of current address, address proof, electricity or any other bill, income tax assessment order, voter ID, Aadhar card, rent agreement (if living on rent), and passport copies of your parents. You can take with you a birth certificate, voter ID, and either an Aadhar card or PAN card.

How much time does it take for passport delivery?

Usually, it takes 30 to 45 days to get the passport. However, if done under "Instant" mode you may get your passport in between 7 to 14 days.
