In such a situation, they get their train tickets canceled without knowing the rules, due to which they are not able to get a refund. Tatkal ticket
If you are not able to get a ticket to travel by train, then Railways gives you the facility to book Tatkal train tickets a day before the journey (at 10 am for AC and 11 am for non-AC) by paying a little extra money. Can book. But if you cancel this ticket, you do not get any refund.
However, you must know that there are two types of Tatkal train tickets, the first is confirmed and the second is a waiting Tatkal ticket. In such a situation, if you cancel this waiting Tatkal train ticket, then some charge is deducted from it. Whereas, partial cancellation of Tatkal e-ticket is allowed.
How much cancellation charge is deducted if a train ticket is canceled 48 hours before chart preparation?
If you cancel your train ticket for any reason 48 hours in advance, you will be charged Rs 240 for First/Executive Class, Rs 200 for AC 2 Tier/First Class, Rs 200 for AC 3 Tier/AC Chair Car/AC 3 Economy A cancellation charge of Rs 180 has to be paid for sleeper class, Rs 120 for sleeper class and Rs 80 for second class. After deducting this charge, Railways refunds you the remaining amount of the ticket.
Know this also
If for any reason you cancel the train ticket less than 12 hours and before 4 hours, then you have to pay a 50 percent cancellation charge. Apart from this, if your train ticket is canceled 12 hours before the scheduled departure, the cancellation charge is 25% of the minimum flat rate fare.
