In such a situation, let us know from astrologer expert DrRadhakant Vats a very interesting secret related to Mohini Ekadashi. This mystery is related to the Mohini avatar of Lord Vishnu and the son of Lord Shiva.
-
According to legend, when the SamudraManthan took place, many divine things emerged from the ocean during that churning. Goddess Lakshmi reappeared from the churning of the ocean. Nectar also came out of this churning of the ocean, for which a fierce debate and snatching started between the gods and the asuras.
- When the asuras got the upper hand over the deities and the asuras snatched the nectar from the deities, then Lord Vishnu took Mohini's avatar and reached between the asuras and the deities. The Devas bowed down to Lord Vishnu and the Asuras were lost in the beauty of Lord Vishnu's Mohini form.
- It is believed that when Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini, that form was so beautiful and so impressive that all the gods, demons, Gandharvas, Yakshas etc. were speechless to see the Mohini avatar. It was becoming difficult for the sages even to narrate the Mohini avatar of Lord Vishnu in the scriptures.
- The Mohini form of Lord Vishnu is beyond the height of beauty and this was the reason that when Lord Shiva saw Lord Vishnu in the form of Mohini, he could not stop himself from going near her. It is described in the texts that Lord Shiva worshipped and praised Mohini after seeing her form.
- The energy appeared from the worship and praise of Lord Shiva. At the same time, a divine form also arose from the beauty of Lord Vishnu's Mohini form. When the energies of Lord Shiva and Sri Hari combined, a son was born from that energy who came to be known as Ayyappa.
- Thus called Ayyappa, the son of Lord Shiva and the Mohini avatar of Lord Vishnu. Ayyappa is especially worshipped in South India. Ayyappa is also known as Hariharaputra. In scriptures and religious texts, Ayyappa has been considered the incarnation of Shasta.
