Many people make modak at their homes. It is specially prepared on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra. Although there are many types of modaks available in the market. Still, on the occasion of Ganesh Utsav, most people like to make Modak Laddus at home. Modak is not only associated with reverence but its taste is also amazing. Offer it to Lord Ganesha with full devotion. If we see, Modak can be prepared at any time and on any occasion. They are in great demand among the people. Today we will tell you an easy way to make modak.
Ingredients
Coconut – 1 cup grated
Jaggery – 1 cup
Nutmeg – a pinch
Saffron – a pinch
Water – 1 cup
Ghee - 2 tsp
Rice flour – 1 cup
Recipe
For stuffing
- Heat a pan on medium flame.
- After this add grated coconut and jaggery in it.
After this, cook it for about five minutes.
- Now add nutmeg and saffron and mix it well.
- Cook it again for five minutes.
Now take it off the flame and keep it aside.
To prepare modak
To prepare modak, add water and ghee in a deep vessel and boil it.
- After this add salt and flour and mix it well.
Now cover the vessel and let the mixture cook a little.
When the mixture is half cooked, apply some ghee to a steel bowl.
After this, add the mixture to it and knead it again like dough.
- Now make small round balls and press them lightly.
Now prepare the edges in the shape of a flower.
- Place the prepared stuffing in the middle.
Now close it by joining all four edges.
Now place it on the muslin cloth.
- After this, cook it on steam for about 10 to 15 minutes. Modak is ready.
