In India, whenever any auspicious event takes place, women apply mehndi. Here Mehndi is considered a symbol of auspiciousness. Be it a wedding or any festival, women of every age apply mehendi on their hands and feet. Mehndi is said to be the most important item of makeup for women. There was a time when to apply mehendi, first, its leaves were plucked, then the fresh mehendi was ground and applied on the hands, but now times have changed.

Now readymade mehndi cones are available in the market, which can be bought for a few rupees and mehndi can be applied. It is easy to buy this cone but sometimes it does not give good color to the mehendi. If you want to get a dark color of mehendi then try to prepare mehendi by mixing it at home. Along with this, you can adopt the home remedies suggested by your grandmothers to thicken the color of the mehendi.

Use tea leaf water
If you are going to dissolve your henna then dissolve it in tea leaf water instead of plain water. Due to this, the color of the mehendi will become quite dark. For this, you will get ground henna in the market at low prices.

Lemon juice
To darken the color of the mehendi, add 3 to 4 spoons of lemon juice to it while mixing the mehendi. This will also change the color of the mehendi.

Vicks
If the color of your mehendi is not dark then you can use Vicks. For this, first of all, apply mehndi on your hands. When you release it, apply Vicks on your hands for some time. Do not wet your hands before applying Vicks.

Cloves
After the mehendi dries, put cloves on a pan and when smoke starts coming out, then warm your hands with this smoke. This will make the color of your mehendi darker.

Mustard oil
For the darker color of the mehendi, first, apply the mehendi on your hands. When it dries, remove the henna from your hands and apply mustard oil on it.
