Steps to applying for new RC: The Registration Certificate (RC) of your vehicle is a very important document. Like a driving license, a registration certificate should always be with you while driving. This certificate means that your vehicle is registered with your Regional Transport Office (RTO). This certificate is either in the form of a book (RC Book) or a smart card (RC Card).

Sometimes we accidentally lose the RC, or it gets damaged. In this case, you do not need to be worried at all. You can apply for Duplicate Registration Certificate from the comfort of your home. However, before applying, you have to keep some important things in mind.

Anytime the RC gets lost and gets damaged, report it to the police station immediately.
Inform the Regional Transport Office from where the RC was issued in writing.
Apply again in Form 26 for the duplicate certificate in the same RTO.
Pay the appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.

How to Apply for Duplicate RC

Pay the service fee online. This will depend on the category of your vehicle.
