There are three main gods in Hinduism, Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Brahmaji is the protector of this world, but the thing to be seen is that in our country there are many temples of every God and Goddess, but there are very few temples of Brahmaji in the whole of India. One of the most important among them is the temple of Brahmaji, which is located in Pushkar, Rajasthan.

Lord Brahma was cursed
There is an interesting story behind the small temple of Brahmaji. In fact, according to the Padma Purana, Brahma's wife Savitri had cursed him that despite being a god, he would never be worshipped. The mythological temple of Brahmaji like Pushkar is not found anywhere else in the whole world. It is believed that once the thought of doing good to the earth came into the mind of Lord Brahma and he decided to perform a yagya for this. He had to find a place for the Yagya. For which he sent a lotus to the earth with his hand. Lotus cannot exist without a pond, hence a pond was built here. Brahmaji reached here for the Yagya.

But his wife Savitri could not reach there on time. The time of Yagya was about to pass, so Brahmaji married a local shepherd and sat in the Yagya. Seeing this, Savitri cursed him that despite being a god, he would never be worshipped. He said that on this earth you will be worshiped only in Pushkar and if someone else builds your temple then it will never be of any benefit to him.

When was this temple built?
There is no information about who built this Brahma temple on the banks of Pushkar Lake. But it is heard that about 1200 years ago, a ruler saw in his dream that there was a temple at this place that needed maintenance. Then that ruler renovated the old structure. The temple has a four-faced idol of Lord Brahma sitting on a lotus. On his left is his wife Gayatri and on his right is Savitri. Let us tell you that there is also a temple of Savitriji in Pushkar, which is situated on the hills behind the temple of Brahmaji.

However, it is not that there is a temple of Brahmaji only in Pushkar. Some places like Kullu Valley, Kumbakonam, Tirupattur, and Panaji also have Brahma temples, but their number is very less compared to the temples of other deities.
