The Revised Medical Termination of Pregnancy 2020 Bill (Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) 20202) was introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 2, 2020, and was passed on March 17, 2020. The MTP Act 1971 has been amended and under the new law, several categories have been fixed for abortion in it. The time limit for abortion in the country has been increased from 20 weeks to 24 weeks. Rape Victims, Victims of Malpractice, and physically weak women have been kept in these categories.
