The hike in the prices of two-wheelers will depend on the model and the market.

Ex-showroom prices of bikes and scooters will increase by up to Rs 2,000
Hero MotoCorp has informed the stock exchanges that the ex-showroom prices of two-wheelers will increase by up to Rs 2,000. The company has said that due to rising commodity costs, it was necessary to increase the price. "Hero MotoCorp is going to increase the ex-showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters with effect from January 4, 2022," the company said in a release.

Prices of two-wheelers rising for the third time in 6 months
This will be the third hike in the prices of Hero MotoCorp two-wheelers in the last 6 months. The company had increased the ex-showroom prices of motorcycles and scooters by up to Rs 3,000 on July 1, 2021. Hero MotoCorp had also made its two-wheelers expensive by up to Rs 3,000 on 20 September. In both the previous hikes, the company had said that the price hike was due to a rise in commodity prices. Hero MotoCorp shares closed at Rs 2,393.40, up 1.85 percent, on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.

Volkswagen has also announced a price hike for Polo, Vento, and Taigun from January 1, 2022. The company says that it is increasing the prices of vehicles due to an increase in input and operational costs. The company is increasing the price of its vehicles by 2-5 percent.
