Ingredients required to make Jeera Rice
Rice – 1/2 cup
Cumin - 2 tbsp
Green chilli chopped - 2
Green coriander chopped - 2 tbsp
Desi ghee - 2 tbsp
Sliced Onion – 1/4 cup
oil - as required
salt - as per taste
A simple method of making cumin rice
To make jeera rice, first, clean the rice and wash them thoroughly.
Now soak this rice in water for 15 minutes.
After this, while preparing further, peel the onion and then cut its thin slices.
After this, finely chop green chillies and green coriander.
Now put some oil in a pan and heat it.
When the oil becomes hot, add onions to it and fry on medium heat.
When the onion turns golden brown, keep it aside on a plate.
Now put 2 cups of water in a vessel and keep it boiling.
Meanwhile, put desi ghee in a pan and heat it on medium flame.
When the ghee becomes hot, put cumin seeds in it and after some time add green chillies.
Now fry it for a few seconds, when the cumin starts crackling, add rice to it and fry for about 5 minutes.
After this add hot water to the rice and boil for 5-7 minutes.
Now add salt as per taste and mix it with a spoon.
After this, cover the pan and cook again till the rice becomes soft.
When the jeera rice is cooked well, separate the rice grains lightly with the help of a spoon.
Now put fried onion slices on top of cumin rice and garnish it with green coriander leaves>
Low flavored cumin rice is ready, now serve them hot.
