Actress Alia Bhatt has taken a jibe at trolls who criticized her for being pregnant, saying women's choices are always looked at and she would rather set an example than focus on the absurd. Bhatt, 29, took to Instagram in June to announce that she is pregnant. She married Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor two months before giving this information.

After this, Bhatt was trolled on social media for getting pregnant at a young age. The actress said in an interview, “Whatever a woman does, she makes headlines. Whether she decides to become a mother, date someone, go to a cricket match, or go on vacation. For some reason, women's preferences are always kept under watch."

Bhatt had revealed that she was pregnant during the shooting of her Hollywood debut film 'Heart of Stone' in London. After this, she was targeted for taking a life-changing decision despite being at the top of her career. She said, “Of course I am young, but why should anything change from this? Why would having a family or child change my professional life? They are two completely different things”.

Bhatt said that she would love to set an example against such absurd things. She also said that people's opinion doesn't matter to her and she listens to her heart. The actress is known for her performances in films like 'Highway', 'Udta Punjab', 'Raazi'.
