Often you must have heard that drinking herbal tea is more beneficial for health than normal tea made of milk, tea leaves, and sugar, and this is true to a large extent, but do you know that mint tea can be used if needed? If you drink too much, then you may have to bear some losses as well. Famous dietician Dr. Ayushi Yadav, working at GIMS Hospital in Greater Noida, explained why precautions should be taken while drinking peppermint tea.

Disadvantages of drinking mint tea
1. Digest will be affected

For those who have bad digestion, peppermint tea becomes less beneficial and more harmful. This has a very bad effect on the digestive system because the menthol present in peppermint tea increases stomach discomfort.

2. There will be loss during pregnancy
Pregnant ladies are advised to stay away from Peppermint Tea as it can prove to be harmful to them. Peppermint oil in mint tea can increase the blood flow in the uterus, which can lead to abortion.

3. Harmful in kidney disease
People who have kidney-related diseases should not drink peppermint tea at all because it will cause harm instead of benefit. Most health experts recommend keeping a distance from mint leaves during this disease.

4. Bacterial Infection
If you drink peppermint tea excessively, then the risk of bacterial infection increases manifold. Therefore, do not increase its intake without consulting the doctor.
