Even people who do not have any disease are being called patients due to air pollution and are reaching OPDs of hospitals for medical help. The country's largest hospital AIIMS has also cautioned with new research that if you already have any disease then be careful now because air pollution can trouble not only lung patients but also diabetes patients. Apart from this, it has also come to light that air pollution is causing danger to the brain.

Effect of air pollution on the brain

Neurologist Dr. Anshu Rohatgi of Delhi's Gangaram Hospital said that the particles of pollution also start reaching the brain and irritate the lining of the brain. Due to this, swelling in the brain increases and many people start having trouble sleeping. People who are already suffering from some mental illness, their illness starts getting worse.

Pollution levels increased in Delhi

Today, AQI 323 was recorded at Delhi Airport T3, AQI 330 in the Delhi University area, AQI 330 near Lodhi Road, AQI 309 in the IIT Delhi area and AQI 208 in Pusa.

Patients in hospitals increased due to bad air

Know that patients started reaching hospitals only when the air quality was 200. Don't go in the crowd. Instead of ordinary masks, use N95 masks which will prevent pollution particles. Keep drinking water and fluids. People who are very ill can install air purifiers in the room.

According to the World Health Organization, air pollution is a 'public health emergency' as more than 90 percent of the world's population is breathing toxic air. Every year 88 lakh untimely deaths are occurring due to breathing in bad air but till now pollution has not been recorded as the cause of death in India. According to a recent report by the University of Chicago, due to air pollution, the average age of Indians is reduced by 5 years and that of those living in Delhi by 12 years. Therefore, go out of the house as little as possible.
