Pillows play an important role in making a comfortable night's sleep. Many people require multiple pillows for a good night's sleep. The use of pillows is absolutely fine, but if the cover of the pillow is not changed regularly, then there can be a risk of diseases. In new research, it has been found that 17 thousand times more bacteria are growing in the pillow cover than in the toilet seat.
Researchers from America's Cornell University claimed this. He found from the swab test taken on the sheet that dead skin cells are full of germs due to sweat, feces, and saliva. Unwashed pillow samples were collected during the study and kept for seven days. It detected bacteria, which can cause skin infections
According to studies, the average person replaces or cleans the cover every 24 days. Dermatologist Dr. Hadley King explained that when we go to bed, dead skin cells and sweat or dust particles provide food for bacteria and attract them to the bed. During this, they grow at a fast pace.
The silk cover is better than cotton.
If the pillow cover is made of silk, it reduces the chances of getting bacteria and it also prevents pimples. It was found in the study that for the health of the skin, there is a better silk cover in the pillow than the cotton cover. The use of silk covers reduces the risk of pimples on the face.
It is necessary to change these things too.
If you want to keep your skin healthy, then these things in the bed should also be changed regularly. These include pillowcases, bedsheets, makeup brushes, beauty blenders, and towels.
