These injuries can occur during a treadmill workout
Accidents that can occur during treadmill workouts include slips, sprains, and strains. But treadmills can cause serious burns, strokes, broken bones, and even death.
Keep these things in mind while walking on the treadmill-
1. Start Slowly
Especially if you are new, do not be in a hurry to run at high speed. Start walking slowly and gradually increase the speed.
2. Hold onto the Handrails
If you have trouble balancing on the treadmill, initially take the help of the handle. When you feel confident, slowly release the handle.
3. Wear Proper Shoes
Wear good running shoes that support your feet. This reduces the risk of ankle sprains.
4. Always be alert (Stay Alert)
Avoid reading a book or talking on the phone while walking on the treadmill. Keep your full attention on the machine.
5. Know the Emergency Stop Button
If you need to stop suddenly while running on the treadmill, do not forget to press the emergency stop button.
6. Stay Hydrated
Keep drinking water before, during, and after exercise. Dehydration can cause dizziness and increase the risk of falling.
7. Take care of speed (Manage Speed)
Set the speed of the treadmill according to your body speed. Too fast or too slow, both are a bad practice.
