For the first time in the country, robotic surgery has been done for women suffering from breast cancer. A private hospital in Delhi has made this claim. The hospital said that the breasts of two women had been saved including tissue reconstruction. There was no need to remove women's breasts during the surgery.

According to the news published in Hindustan, Dr. Mandeep Singh Malhotra, Director of the Oncology Surgery Department of CK Birla Hospital, Punjabi Bagh, said that after delivery, a 27-year-old woman complained of feeling a lump in the breast. Such changes appear in the breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but the woman kept ignoring her problem. Medical examination revealed the presence of early-stage breast cancer. After this, the woman was given chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and natural supplements.

Breastfeeding the baby after treatment

Chemotherapy is helpful in the optical removal of the tumor. Breast-saving surgery including tissue reconstruction was done with the help of a robot without any problem. She was worried about having both her breasts removed due to cancer. After treatment, the woman breastfed the child again. In another case, breast cancer surgery of a 60-year-old woman was done using the same technique. There were three lumps in the breast. The woman is now living a healthy life.

There is no damage to the skin.

The doctor said that this is a rare type of surgery, in which latissimus flap reconstruction is used. With the help of robots in surgery, photographs become more accurate and the size of the incision is reduced. The robot is inserted into the breast from the side, which removes tissue and reconstructs the breast. The breast skin is not harmed in this process.
