By Santosh Jangid- The eating habits of today's youth have become so bad that they keep suffering from stomach problems, if we talk about the statistics that 70 percent of the youth are suffering from flatulence and gas formation, gas is mainly formed by bacteria in our intestinal tract. These bacteria help digest the food we eat, especially sugars, starches and cellulose, when sugars are not broken down enough, they can become fermented, resulting in gas while passing through the small intestine. Contractions of the small intestine then push this gas into the large intestine, which can cause bloating and flatulence. If you are also troubled by gas, then adopt these home remedies-

Common gas-forming foods: Certain foods, including beans, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, coffee, eggs, fish, radishes, dates, figs, and artificial sweeteners, can contribute significantly to gas production.

Effects of fatty foods: Foods high in fat can slow digestion, which can increase gas formation. Limiting these foods may help reduce discomfort.

Lactose intolerance: If you suspect you have lactose intolerance, it is advisable to avoid milk and dairy products, as they can increase gas.

Digestive aids: Consider taking digestive enzymes or powders before meals to improve carbohydrate digestion and potentially reduce gas.

Natural remedies: Drinking ginger juice or warm ginger water is often recommended to relieve flatulence.

Herbs for flatulence: Cumin and fennel are traditional herbs known to help reduce flatulence and intestinal gas.

Triphala for constipation: If you are having constipation along with excessive flatulence, taking triphala churna before bedtime can provide relief.

Ghee and asafoetida: Drinking half a teaspoon of ghee and a pinch of asafoetida mixed in lukewarm water at night helps in digestion and reduces gas.

Ayurvedic remedies: Consider Ayurvedic practices like Nitya Virechana or Basti, especially Dashamula Niruvasti, to improve digestive health.
