With increasing age, the body's immunity begins to weaken; this can also be a condition that increases many types of diseases. This is the reason why health experts recommend everyone to maintain a healthy and nutritious diet from an early age and maintain a routine. These efforts made at a young age and youth can help protect you from the risk of many serious and fatal diseases that occur with aging.

Health experts say, that due to the way our lifestyle and diet are disturbed, there can be a risk of many types of diseases by reaching the age of 50.

Health experts say nine out of 10 older adults have some type of chronic disease and nearly eight out of 10 have more than one chronic disease. Such statistics indicate that the youth need to be careful about their health in the future. By the age of 50, it is seen to be very common to have problems with respiratory diseases, heart disease, and diabetes, these problems can be serious and even fatal.

More prone to bacterial pneumonia
Health experts say that people over the age of 50 are at a higher risk of developing lung-related diseases over time, pneumonia being one of them. Common cold flu can also increase the risk of this problem. About 30% of older people hospitalized for pneumonia die from it, with people over the age of 65 believed to be at higher risk of the disease because of a weakened immune system.

To prevent pneumonia, continuous efforts must be made to keep the lungs healthy.

Bone and joint problems
Along with age, the risk of osteoporosis and related diseases can also be significantly higher. This is the reason that the risk of Osteoporosis and Arthritis which was earlier being seen after the age of 60, is now falling prey to even younger people. Due to lack of physical activity, nutritional problems like calcium-vitamin D deficiency, etc., bone diseases also start increasing.

Osteoporosis makes your bones weak and can make them more prone to fractures. It affects about 54 million Americans age 50 or older.

Risk of glaucoma
Aging can also be problematic for your eyes, which can result in blurred vision. By age 60, cataracts (which cloud the lens of your eye) and glaucoma (eye problems that damage your optic nerve) can also affect your vision.

To prevent such problems related to the eyes, it is necessary to keep regular eye check-ups from an early age.

Heart disease can be fatal
As you age, plaque builds up in your arteries, which is a major cause of heart disease. It can start at a young age and gets worse with age. In the US age group 40 to 59, 6.3% of men and 5.6% of women have heart disease. Due to dietary and lifestyle disturbances, the risk of heart disease is increasing with time, it is also considered as one of the leading causes of death.
