Different food items are famous in different places in our country. There are many Gujarati dishes that everyone likes. Fafda is one of these dishes, which has created a special identity. Fafda served with kadhi is wonderful. Fafda also tastes tasty with green chilies. Fafda is a very good choice as a snack.
Ingredients
Gram flour – 1 cup
Ajwain – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Soda – 1 pinch
Oil – as per need
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
- First of all, sift gram flour in a big bowl. After this add carom seeds to gram flour and mix.
Now add half a teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of oil, and a pinch of baking soda and mix everything well.
- Now take lukewarm water and knead the gram flour by adding it little by little. Gram flour should neither be too hard nor too soft.
- After kneading the dough, prepare balls of equal proportion and cover them with a cotton cloth.
- Now take a ball and roll it long instead of round.
- If the dough is too long then cut it into two pieces and keep them aside in a plate. Similarly, roll out puffs from each dough.
- Now put oil in a pan and keep it to heat on medium flame.
When the oil becomes hot, put the rolled puffs in it as per the capacity of the pan and deep fry them.
- Bake the chapattis for 1 to 2 minutes by turning them so that they become golden and crisp on both sides.
After this, take out the lungs in a plate. Similarly, fry all the puffs.
-Now serve hot fafda with curry and green chilies.
