Air plants are counted as very beautiful plants. They absorb moisture and nutrients through their leaves rather than their roots. They do not need soil to grow. They move only through the air. But still, they need to be watered occasionally. Air plants are not watered as regularly as other plants. The method of giving them water is also quite different.

Air plants are indeed low-maintenance plants, but still, they need care. You can easily water them by soaking or spraying them. So, today in this article we are telling you about the right way to water the air plant-

When to Water Air Plants

Before watering an air plant, you should also know when the right time to water it is. Always water the air plant in the morning So that they have enough time to dry during the day. Beyond that, you should only water your air plant once every one to two weeks.

Soak and water the air plant

You can water the air plant by soaking it. This method is very easy. For this, fill a bowl or cup with lukewarm filtered water. Now place your air plant in it. During this, you need to keep in mind that its leaves are well immersed in water. Leave your air plant to soak for 20-40 minutes. Once the plant is soaked, remove it from the water. Shake off excess water from the leaves of the air plant. Then, lay the plant upside down on a towel for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help prevent any remaining water from sitting on the leaves and rotting them.

Give water to the air plant by misting

While giving water to the air plant, you should also pay attention to its type. For example, instead of soaking, give water to Tillandsia tectorum through misting. To try this method, fill a spray bottle or mister with lukewarm filtered water. If your air plant is kept in a glass terrarium or an enclosed space, remove the plant before watering. Otherwise, this can trap moisture in the terrarium, which can lead to stem rot. Now mist your air plant thoroughly until the leaves are damp. However, this water should not drip. Also, let it dry before returning it to its original place.
