Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra's mother, Mrs. Durga Devendranath Mishra, passed away on Tuesday morning. Sharing this news on Twitter, he wrote an emotional post. Sudhir Mishra wrote, "My mother passed away a few hours ago, my sister and I held her hand when she died. I am an orphan now."

Many colleagues and actors from Mishra's industry including Ayushmann Khurrana, Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, and Amrita Rao have expressed their condolences. Ayushman wrote, 'Take care of yourself, dear sir. Deepest condolences" Amrita Rao also tweeted saying, "We are all God's children who will eventually return to where we are.. May your mother find happiness in the higher world." Filmmaker Onir tagged Sudhir Mishra and wrote, "Sending you a lot of love. It is very sad not to have parents."

The condition had become critical on June 10.
According to media reports, meanwhile, the last rites of Sudhir Mishra's mother were also performed in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. Several celebrities including Saurabh Shukla were seen paying their last respects. Sudhir's mother was hospitalized for the past few weeks and on June 10, her condition became critical. On June 10, Mishra tweeted, "I came out of the hospital to take a bath when I got a call saying that my mother has very little time left now."
