What work do

This is a Group B position in the Enforcement Directorate, known as ED. They work against two types of crimes. A Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA) and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). They see that there is no money laundering in the country and also keep an eye on it.

Have to pass this exam

To become an ED officer, you have to pass the SSC CGL exam. Through this exam, you can get selected for the post of Assistant Enforcement Officer. Staff Selection Commission conducts a Combined Graduate Level Examination. This is a two-tier exam and only the candidates who pass the first stage go to the second stage. There should be a good score and high rank for final selection.

How much salary do you get, how is promotion done?

They get a salary according to pay level 7. According to this, they can earn from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400 per month. Within three years of joining, one gets promoted to Assistant Enforcement Officer. The first two promotions may take place in eight to nine years.

Overall, they get promotions to the posts of Enforcement Officer, Assistant Director of ED, Deputy Director of ED, Joint Director of ED, Additional Director of ED and Special Director in ED.

To apply for this post or rather to apply through SSC CGL, the age of the candidate should be between 18 to 30 years. Graduate candidates from any discipline who have obtained minimum marks can apply.
