Every year Dussehra is celebrated a day after the end of Sharadiya Navratri. It is said that when Lord Shri Ram attacked Lanka to rescue Mother Sita from the clutches of Lankapati Ravana, a fierce battle took place. Not only Ravana's brother and sons died in this war.
At the end of the war, when Ravana himself descended for the war, Lord Rama also killed Ravana on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. For this reason, Dussehra is celebrated every year on this date.
This day is the day of victory of good over evil. That is why even after centuries, people make effigies of Ravana and burn them at various places. In many places, even children make effigies of Ravana in their homes and colonies. If you are also thinking of making an effigy of Ravana at your home, then we are going to tell you its easy way.
Materials for making effigy
Wooden sticks (for making the frame)
Rope (for tying the frame)
Paper gift wrapping paper
Paper, cardboard (for face, hands, feet and decoration)
Glue and tape
Prepare the frame like this
To prepare the effigy of Ravana, first prepare the frame of Ravana's body with long bamboo sticks. For this, first of all you have to make a long rod as the main base and after that join the parts of hands, feet and head. While joining the rods, tie them well, so that they do not open on lifting again and again.
After preparing the frame, prepare Ravana's clothes with the help of paper gift wrapping paper. For this, wear a cloth of a different color than the dhoti and choose a paper of a different color for the upper part. Now comes the turn to prepare Ravana's face, for that you have to prepare ten heads of Ravana. For this, first of all make 10 similar faces of Ravana on the drawing sheet and after cutting them, stick them around.
While making the face, keep in mind that Ravana's mustache should be great. After this, prepare crowns for all the heads with the help of paper. Make 10 crowns and stick them on all the faces. After this, fill the faces and crowns with the color of your choice using sketch color. Attach these heads properly to the top of the structure, so that they do not move. Finally, give a sword made of cardboard in one hand of Ravana. Now this Ravana is ready for burning.
