TRAI's Do-Not-Disturb (DND) app service will be available on all Android mobile phones from March next year. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is working to fix the bugs in the DND app to help mobile users detect unwanted calls and messages immediately.
TRAI Secretary V Raghunandan said at an event on Tuesday that the telecom regulator is working to fix the glitches in the DND app to resolve the technical issues faced by customers. For this, we have associated an agency with us. We are trying to make this app compatible with all Android phones by March.
Apple refuses to grant access
TRAI Secretary said, that with the improvement in the app, the number of spam calls and SMS has reduced significantly. However, Apple had refused to give the DND app access to call details. Truecaller co-founder Ellen Mamedi said that 27 crore people are using this app in India. Through this, about 50 lakh spam calls are reported every day in the country. Now the challenge has come to identify the errors made through voice cloning or manipulation.
