Dhanteras Diwali Laxmi Ganesh Kuber Puja Vidhi 2023: Dhanteras is celebrated every year on the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This year this festival will be celebrated on Friday, 10th November. In Sanatan Dharma, shopping and worshiping the gods on the day of Dhanteras is considered very auspicious. The 5-day long festival of Diwali begins from Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi. On the day of Dhanteras, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, Kuber, the god of wealth, Dhanvantari, the god of medicine, and Yamraj are worshipped.
Lord Ganesha's worship method
Shri Ganesha is worshiped first among the gods, that is why Lord Ganesha is worshiped first. First of all, bathe Shri Ganesha. After this, apply sandalwood or kumkum tilak to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and offer flowers. Before starting the puja, chant the mantra given below.
Rituals of Lord Dhanvantari
On the day of Dhanteras, the idol or picture of Dhanvantari during the Pradosh period. By worshiping Lord Dhanvantari in the North-North-East direction one gets good health. Before placing the lamp, place kheel or rice on it and light the lamp. Now take pure water in a Kalash and offer prayers to all the Gods and then offer Roli, Kumkum, Turmeric, Gandha, Akshat, Paan, Flowers, Naivedya or Sweets, Fruits, Dakshina, etc., and offer them obeisance and pray for the destruction of your diseases. To ensure longevity and health in the family, keep chanting the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagwate Dhanvantrai Vishnurupay Namo Namah' during the puja.
According to Ayurveda, attaining Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha is possible only through a healthy body and longevity. The scriptures also say that 'Sharir Madhyam Khalu Dharma Sadhanam' i.e. the means of religion is also a healthy body, only then Lord Dhanvantari is worshiped for the wealth in the form of health. It is believed that worshiping Dhanvantari on this day keeps a person healthy throughout the year.
Lakshmi worship method
Mahalakshmi is worshiped on the day of Dhanteras during the Pradosh period only. Keep the idol or picture of the Mother Goddess on the platform where Lord Ganesha is seated. After this, keep Ganga water in the Kalash. Along with this, keep betel nut, flowers, a coin, and some rice grains and cereals on top of this Kalash. After this, bathe the idol of Goddess Lakshmi with Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, butter, and honey). Then after bathing with water, apply sandalwood to Goddess Lakshmi, offer perfume, vermillion, turmeric, gulal, etc. Pray for happiness and prosperity while performing the Aarti of Mother Goddess. Then chant the mantra.
Kuber puja method
Kuber, the god of wealth, is also considered the god who removes demonic powers. On this day in the evening, install Kuber Yantra in the north direction, sprinkle Ganga water on it, do tilak with roli and rice, offer flowers, and offer bhog by lighting a lamp and chanting this mantra. After this, do aarti and pay obeisance to Kuber ji and pray for your happiness and prosperity.
Yamraj worship method
According to Vastu, the south direction is considered to be the direction of Yama. On the day of Dhanteras, during the Pradosh period, one should remember Yamdev at the main door of the house and install a four-sided oil lamp on a pile of grains facing south. Since this lamp is lit for Yamraj, the god of death, while lighting the lamp, pay obeisance to him with full devotion and pray that he may shower his mercy on your family and no one should die untimely.
