Even those who do not eat pulses at home like to taste the flavor of Daal in Dhaba. In such a situation, today we have brought you the recipe for making Dhaba Style Dal Tadka. After taking its pungent and spicy taste, your stomach will definitely be filled but not your mind. Let's know its recipe.
Necessary ingredients
- 1 bowl Arhar / Toor Dal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 3 whole red chillies
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 1 green chili finely chopped
- 5-6 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 1-inch piece of ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp ghee as needed
Recipe
Add dal, water, salt, 2-3 drops of oil, and turmeric to the pressure cooker.
Close the lid and keep it on a medium flame for 4-5 whistles.
After the whistle, let the pressure of the cooker get over.
After this, put ghee in the pan and keep it on a medium flame for heating.
When the ghee is well heated, add cumin, and asafoetida and temper it.
Then add garlic, ginger, red chili, green chili, and onion and fry while stirring.
After the onions turn brown, add tomatoes to the oil and cover the pan.
After 2 minutes, lift the lid and mix the tempering well.
After this add red chili powder and some coriander leaves and mix it.
Now take the dal in the cooker and stir it. Then put this dal in the pan and immediately cover the lid.
After this, add the remaining coriander leaves on the dal and after it comes to a boil, remove it from the flame.
Dal tadka is ready. Serve with rice.
