1/2 inch ginger
2 pinch cumin powder
2 pinch red chili powder
1 pinch garam masala powder
1 tbsp boondi
2 tbsp dry coconut
4 cashew nuts
4 almonds
1 tablespoon raisins

Method to make Bread Dahi Vada-
Take out the yellow moong and urad dal together in a bowl and wash them well. Soak them together for about 8-10 hours or overnight. The next day, when the lentils get soaked, drain the water and keep it aside. Now put soaked lentils, green chilies, ginger, asafoetida, salt, baking soda, and some water in a blender jar. Make a fine paste by grinding them and taking them out in a bowl. Using a whisker, whisk the paste well until the paste becomes light and fluffy. Once done, keep aside until necessary.

Now take a bowl and mix chopped almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, and dry coconut in it. Next, take a bread slice and cut off the corners of each slice. Moisten the ends of the entire bread using a little water. Put some filling in the middle and close the ends to make a round ball. Press the ball slightly to give it a Tikki-like shape. Prepare more such vadas by the same process. Place a wok or kadhai on medium heat and heat oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, dip one vada in the dal batter. Now grease your hands and take out the dipped vada and put it in hot oil. In the same way, dip all the vadas in the batter and fry all the vadas and take them out. This step will help you soak the fried vadas. Take a large bowl and add a cup of curd, sugar, salt, water, and asafoetida in it. Whisk all the ingredients well. When this mixture is ready, add vadas and soak them for 5-7 minutes. Do not soak these vadas for a long time, as this can make your vadas soft. While your vadas are soaking, take a bowl and beat the curd with black salt, salt and sugar well. Once done, take out the soaked vadas and press them lightly. Place these vadas on a plate and pour curd over them. Sprinkle spices over it and pour tamarind chutney on top. Lastly, garnish your chaat with coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds, garam masala, chaat masala powder, and a little boondi. Serve the chaat chilled.
