If you are also planning to go somewhere suddenly and are a little worried about the ticket, then the train can be the right option. You can book your ticket a day before your journey. Today we will tell you about it.

Every second person in India uses the train for their short or big journey. In such a situation, if you want to go somewhere very quickly or say at an interval of one day, then IRCTC gives you the option of booking Tatkal tickets. With its help, you can book yourself a confirmed ticket even a day before your journey. Let us know about it in detail.

Book train tickets a day in advance

As we have already mentioned that Tatkal ticket booking facility enables you to book your ticket a day before the date of the journey. Though you have to pay extra for this over and above the normal ticket price, the cost is not very high. Tatkal booking is available for all classes including Sleeper, 3AC, 2AC, and Executive. You can book Tatkal tickets from the comfort of your home or at the railway station through the IRCTC website, ICRTC Rail Connect app, or Paytm app.

Fixed booking time

Let us know that Tatkal ticket booking for select trains opens from the primary station one day before the date of the journey. If you want to book Tatkal tickets in AC class (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E) then the booking for them starts at 10 AM. On the other hand, if you want to take a ticket in a non-AC class (SL/FC/2S) in Tatkal quota, then its booking starts at 11 am.

This is how much IRCTC charges

IRCTC levies an additional fee per passenger for tatkal bookings. This fee is 30% of the basic fare for all classes except the second class (sitting). In this, the Tatkal fee has been fixed at the rate of 10%.
