The great festival Chhath Puja started on 17th November. This four-day festival is one of the most difficult fasts of Hindu religion. A 36-hour waterless fast is observed during Chhath Puja. Nahay is eaten on the first day, on which the fasting people take food. After that, the fasting starts. Not consuming food and water for 36 hours continuously can affect health.
During fasting, health starts deteriorating due to weakness, dizziness, and lack of water in the body. In such a situation, if you or someone in the family is observing Chhath fast, then take special care of your health. You can adopt healthy measures to remain energetic and healthy during Chhath Puja.
Stay away from the heat
Although during Chhath Puja, the weather starts feeling a bit cool, during the fast, avoid heat and sunlight to remain energetic and avoid feeling thirsty. The fasting person should avoid going out in the sun. Feeling more thirsty due to sunlight. Apart from this, working too hard also wastes the body's energy and one may feel hungry and thirsty. Therefore, avoid doing hard work and maintain energy.
Don't talk too much
While speaking too much, the throat becomes dry and one feels thirsty. Do not talk much during Chhath Puja fasting. This will reduce fatigue and also reduce hunger and thirst.
Use of ice
You can use ice if you feel thirsty during fasting. Put ice in a clean cloth and apply it on the face and neck. This gives relief to the blood vessels of the body and reduces thirst. Energy also remains due to cooling of the body.
Way of breathing
During fasting, health may deteriorate due to hunger and thirst. People start breathing through their mouths due to hunger, thirst, and lack of energy. This is the wrong way to breathe. Breathing through the mouth makes the throat dry and one feels more thirsty. Therefore, breathe through the nose and not through the mouth.
Doctor advice
Often people ignore their health and keep fast. They ignore whether their body is capable of withstanding hunger and thirst during fasting. If you are suffering from any disease then fast only after consulting the doctor. If you are feeling any problems even during fasting, then go to the doctor.
