Cervical cancer: Like breast cancer, now cervical cancer is also spreading rapidly. As many cases are coming of breast cancer, there are almost as many cases of cervical as well. In rural areas, this cancer is flourishing more rapidly. Now research has come to the fore regarding cervical cancer. In the study of the Kenya Research Institute, it has been claimed that only one dose of the HPV vaccine can eliminate this disease. While till now it was said that at least three doses are needed to prevent cervical cancer.
A study was conducted on 2250 women at the Kenya Medical Research Institute, in which it has been found that only one dose of the vaccine can prevent up to 98 percent of the disease. The vaccine is effective on all strains of the cancer-causing virus. It has been said in this research that if even one dose is applied, then women can be saved from cancer to a great extent in future. Countries which have less vaccination or there is a shortage of vaccines, then according to the study of this study, they can proceed with the vaccination. Single dose steps can be taken in more populated countries.
Get the HPV vaccine for girls at this age
Cancer surgeon Dr Anshuman Kumar says that girls should start getting vaccinated with this vaccine at the age of 11 years. It has a course of two to three doses. This vaccine is also available in India, but people are not aware of it. But like other important vaccines, the HPV vaccine should also be installed. This ends the risk of cervical cancer in future. Especially girls with weak immunity must be given this vaccine.
Vaccination has been done only 16 per cent
According to the World Health Organization, only 16 percent of eligible girls worldwide have received the HPV vaccine. This is happening because of the lack of awareness about the vaccine.
Dr. Anshuman Kumar says that now there is a need to think seriously about HPV vaccination. This is because cervical cancer is spreading rapidly in India as well. This is seen as a big problem in women. In such a situation, there is a need to take steps for protection.
