Cancer: An American organization has researched cancer, in which smoking and old age have been described as the most important risk factors for cancer.

Risk Factors For Acquiring Any Cancer: Cancer is considered to be one of the most deadly diseases. If any member of any family comes under the grip of this disease, then along with the patient, his family members also become in bad condition. A huge amount has to be spent on the treatment of cancer. To come out of this deadly disease, people invest the entire deposits of their lives. Now meanwhile, a US-based organization has researched cancer, in which smoking and old age have been described as the most important risk factors for cancer.

These things said in the study

According to a recent study by scientists of the American Cancer Society (ACS), smoking and old age are also the most important risk factors for cancer. The findings of the study were published in the journal Cancer, which found that in addition to smoking, physicians should consider excess body fatness and family history.

Single cancer type-specific screening recommendations are based on risk factors for that specific type of cancer, said study lead author Dr. Alpa Patel, senior vice president of population science at the American Cancer Society. Our findings are encouraging, as we are working to define subgroups in the general population that may benefit from cancer screening and prevention.

For the study, researchers analyzed and studied 4,29,991 participants in the US with no prior history of cancer. The results showed that 15,226 invasive cancers were diagnosed in these participants within five years of enrollment.

In women, body mass index (BMI), type 2 diabetes, hysterectomy, family history of cancer, high blood pressure, tubal ligation, and physical inactivity were also associated with cancer risk.

Dr. Alpa Patel said that as we consider the possibility that future tests may be able to identify many types of cancer. We need to start by understanding who is most at risk for developing any type of cancer. He added that these types of data are not widely available, but are needed to inform future screening options.
