Most Selling SUV: The year 2021 and especially the month of December has proved to be very good for Tata Motors. Last year, Tata Motors was the third-largest carmaker in the country. With this, in December 2021, it has overtaken Hyundai to become second among the top car companies. Not only this, the company's sub-compact SUV Tata Nexon has been the best-selling SUV in December 2021. It beat the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Creta. It has also been ranked fourth among the best-selling vehicles.

Last month, 12,899 units of the Tata Nexon SUV were sold. This is a growth of 88.7 percent against 6,835 units sold in December 2020. Tata Nexon has secured the first position beating Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Hyundai Creta. Maruti Suzuki sold 9,531 units in December 2021 as compared to 12,251 units sold in the same month last year. Hyundai, on the other hand, sold just 10,360 units in December 2021 as against 12,313 units in the same month last year.


Sold more than 1 lakh in a year
If we look at the figures for the whole year, then the highest sales of Tata Nexon have happened in the month of December itself. Whereas in May it was the lowest sold (only 6,439 units). Talking about the quarter, it has 24,837 units in the first quarter (January to March), 21,410 units in the second quarter (April to June), 29,504 units in the third quarter (July to September), and the fourth quarter (October to December). 32,826 units were sold. In this way, its total sales during the year have been 1,08,577 units.

Features of Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon sub-compact SUV price starts from Rs 7.29 Lakh and goes up to Rs 13.34 Lakh. It comes in two engine options – 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel. The petrol engine generates maximum power of 120PS and a peak torque of 170Nm. While the diesel engine generates 110PS of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque.


Both the engines are available with the option of 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT. Talking about the features, it gets features like rear AC vents with Auto AC, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and a digital instrument cluster. It competes with vehicles like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
