Most people want light and tasty food for breakfast. Often this question persists in homes as to what to prepare for breakfast. Many times one gets bored of eating the same dish every day. In such a situation, curd bread upma is a great dish. This can be tried to change the taste of the mouth. To make it, many spices including peas and tomatoes are used along with bread. It does not take much time to prepare. After having this scrumptious breakfast, you will feel like eating it again as soon as possible.
Ingredients
Bread slices – 5
Curd – 1 cup
Tomato – 1/2 cup
Peas – 1/2 cup
Peanuts – 2 tbsp
Onion – 1
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Mustard – 1 tsp
Ginger chopped – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Anardana – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 8-10
Green chilli chopped – 1
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
- First of all, take bread slices and grind them in a mixer. To get the taste like upma, the slices have to be ground coarsely.
Now put curd in a vessel and beat it well. After this, take a pan add oil, and heat it on medium flame.
When the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. When the mustard seeds start crackling, add finely chopped green chilies, ginger, onion, curry leaves, tomatoes, and peas in the oil.
- After this add roasted peanuts and fry them well with the mixture.
Now add turmeric powder to this mixture and mix. After mixing well, add some sugar to the spices.
When the spices start emitting aroma, add coarsely ground bread and whipped curd and mix.
- Keep in mind that salt and garam masala should not be added before curd, otherwise, the curd may curdle.
- After this add all the remaining spices and cook for 2-3 minutes. Finally, add green coriander and pomegranate seeds. Curd bread upma is ready.
