The first rule to stay healthy is to pay attention to your diet. What you are eating and when you are eating, both these things matter for your health. Sometimes the same food is taken at different times, then they leave their different effect on the body. Although the five miles of the day have their importance, breakfast has been considered the most important in it. This is also because, this is the first meal of your day and after fasting for about eight to ten hours, if you eat something, then it becomes necessary that you pay attention to your diet.

It is said that after getting up, a person must eat something within forty minutes so that his metabolism does not slow down. But that doesn't mean that you should eat anything. So, in this article today, the dietician of ESIC Hospital, Central Government Hospital, Ritu Puri is telling you about some such food items, which you should avoid taking in breakfast-

Say no to sugary food items

You should completely avoid sugary food items or high refined sugary cereals at the beginning of the day. When you consume a lot of sugar in breakfast itself, then your chances of gaining weight increase greatly. Apart from this, it also increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Having sugary items for breakfast means that you are adding extra calories to your diet.

Fruit juice

When people are in a hurry, they drink packed fruit juice or fruit juice. They feel that by this they are taking care of their health. But in reality, it is not so. While concentrated sugar and preservatives are used in packaged fruit juices, fibre content is also missing from fresh fruit juices. Whereas in breakfast, you should pay equal attention to protein as well as fibre so that your stomach remains full for a long time and you can avoid overeating or munching.

Pancakes & Muffins

Most people like to eat pancakes and muffins for breakfast. But in reality, it is also not considered a good breakfast option. They are prepared with the help of maida, which is refined sugar. When you consume it, it will soon be converted into energy and stored in your body as extra calories. By which you will take your step toward obesity. Protein is negligible in it, while carbs are high. While it is advised that breakfast should always be protein-rich. If you want to make pancakes, then use gram flour instead of flour.

Buttered toast

Eating butter toast for breakfast is very common in Indian households, but in reality, it is not very beneficial for your health. While the fat content in the butter found in the market is very high, the bread is prepared from maida. In such a situation, if you eat simple butter toast, then it will make your body fatty. So avoid it. If you have to eat toast, then you switch simple bread with multigrain bread. Also, use a variety of vegetables like cucumber, tomato, etc. in toast so that fibre can be added to your breakfast.
