Stroke can be a life-threatening problem, the risk of which is seen to be increasing rapidly in the young population. Researchers have alerted that poor lifestyle and physical inactivity are their major risk factors, for which all people need to be careful from an early age. Doctors of the American Heart Association found in a survey that most of us are unaware of the risks and symptoms of stroke, due to which its risk is seen to be increasing significantly.

According to the survey conducted for 15 years, an increase of 38% in stroke cases was observed in the age group of 18 to 44 years. About 30% of adults under the age of 45 are unaware of common stroke symptoms. Such conditions can increase the risks of serious problems.

Let us know why this risk is increasing among the youth and what efforts can be made to prevent it.
Risk of stroke

According to research published by the American Heart Association, the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) stroke is increasing rapidly. Well there are two types of stroke
Ischemic stroke - blockage or formation of blood clots in the blood vessels of the brain.
Hemorrhagic stroke - leakage or bursting of an artery in the brain.
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a subtype of hemorrhagic stroke. Its cases are increasing rapidly among the youth. Doctors have told an effective formula to identify it.

Know about the BE FAST formula
Researchers in the Journal of Brown Hospital Medicine have told about the BE FAST formula through which stroke can be identified. If you are having these problems then it can be considered as a risk of stroke.
B- Balance- The problem in the balance of the body.
E-Eyes- Sudden trouble in seeing.
F-face - loss of function on one side of the face, paralysis.
A-Arms- Weakness or numbness in hands and feet.
S-Speech- Difficulty in speaking.
T- Time- If such problems are happening then it is time to go to the doctor immediately.

What do experts say?
We're seeing an increasing incidence of stroke among youth, says Sherrill Martin-Schild, stroke medical director at the Louisiana Emergency Response Network. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and smoking are the four major risk factors along with lifestyle disturbances, due to which this risk is increasing rapidly. Due to these conditions, only young people are falling prey to it. Stroke is a life-threatening condition, it is very important for all people to know about it and to make continuous efforts for prevention.
