January 9 is a Sunday, so all banks will be closed. Sunday is a national holiday.

11 January 2022 is Missionary Day, which is a holiday in Mizoram. In Mizoram, all banks will remain closed on this day and there will be no business.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti is on 12 January 2022. On this day, the work of the bank may remain closed in some parts of the country.

Makar Sankranti is on 14 January 2022. Pongal is also on this day. In many states of the country, banks will remain closed on this day and no work will be done.

On 15 January 2022, Uttarayan Punyakal is Makar Sankranti festival. Maghe Sankranti, Sankranti, Pongal, and Tiruvallur Day are celebrated at many places on this day. Due to this, banks in Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will remain closed.

Which day is the national holiday

If we look at the bank holidays throughout the year, then all the banks are closed together on Republic Day, 26 January, 15 August Independence Day, and 2 October Gandhi Jayanti. All these three Jhutis are registered as national holidays in the country. Banks are also closed on Diwali, Christmas, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Good Friday in different parts of the country. Banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and every Sunday. There are 4 Saturdays in a month and if the fifth is Saturday then it is a working day.

Many states have their own local festivals on which banks are closed (bank holidays in 2022). Banks remain closed on Good Friday, Baisakhi, Vishu, Biju Parv, Chiraoba, Bohag Bihu, Muharram, and Durga Puja or Dussehra. Some state governments also fix bank holidays according to their own. For example, the Kerala government declares Onam and Vishu holidays. Similarly, a holiday is observed in Himachal Pradesh on Maharishi Parshuram Jayanti and Maharana Pratap Jayanti.
