In fact, during her address in Parliament, President Draupadi Murmu said that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, now those people who are above 70 years of age will also get the benefit of free treatment. In such a situation, even 70-year-olds will be able to avail the benefit of free treatment by getting an Ayushman card.
President Draupadi Murmu said, 'My government is providing free services to 55 crore beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and now the government is going to take another decision. In this, all the elderly above 70 years of age will get the benefit of Ayushman Yojana.'
Who gets the benefit now?
At present, the people who can avail the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana include the following people...
Who has a disabled person in his family
Those who come below the poverty line
People who come from Scheduled Caste or Tribe
People who are destitute or tribal
People who do daily wage labour
Those who work in the unorganized sector
People who live in rural areas.
At the same time, Ayushman cards are made for those who join the Ayushman Bharat scheme. After this, cardholders can get free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh in listed hospitals. The government bears its entire expense.
