Why was the Cactus Garden made?

The purpose behind making this garden is to preserve the extinct species of cactus. Apart from this, tourists have to be attracted towards this garden. There are more than 2,500 species of cactus and succulents in this garden. The garden also houses a collection, one of the largest in the world.

The Cactus Garden has some endangered species and some rare species as well. This garden is a great source of attraction not only for tourists but also for botanists.

The Panchkula administration also organizes the Spring Festival every year in the Cactus Garden. In this, along with cactus, other flower species are also kept and many extinct species of cactus are prepared in this garden. It is also the centre of main attraction for the tourists.

The new name of Cactus Garden

This garden was earlier known as the Cactus Garden, but after some time the name of this garden was changed to National Cactus and Succulent Botanical Garden and Research Center, but still most people know it by the name of Cactus Garden.

This cactus garden, built on 8 acres, also has varieties of succulents and cacti from many countries like America, Mexico etc.
