Apple is working on the second generation of Watch Ultra, which will replace the Apple Watch Ultra that was launched in September last year. It is claimed that Apple is going to use 3D printing technology for manufacturing parts of its new Watch Ultra. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed some new details about the design of Apple's upcoming smartwatch, as well as the names of key suppliers for components.

When will Apple Watch Ultra be launched?
However, Apple has not yet made any official announcement regarding the launch of the second-generation watch of Apple Watch Ultra. But it is claimed that the next Watch Ultra can be launched in 2026.

Parts will be made from 3D printing
In a post published on Medium, Kuo claimed that Apple may adopt 3D printing technology for its upcoming Apple Watch Ultra. It is claimed that the digital crown, side buttons, action buttons, etc. in the watch can be made from 3D-printed mechanisms. These parts are currently made using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) process.

Kuo also said that 3D printing will also need to go through the CNC process for back-end processing. It is claimed that this will help Apple reduce production costs. Along with this, there is a possibility of speeding up the manufacturing process. The post also reveals that IPG Photonics is the exclusive supplier of laser components, while Farsun and BLT will be printer suppliers for 3D-printed mechanical parts for the 2023 Apple Watch Ultra.

Micro LED display can be found in Apple Watch Ultra
Rumors and speculations about the smartwatch are becoming increasingly viral on the internet. According to a recent report, the second generation of Apple Watch Ultra could be the first smartwatch in its segment to feature MicroLED. The components of a micro LED are 100 times smaller than those of a normal LED. Hence, it takes a long time to assemble them, which can also affect the production process. It is being said that Apple may introduce a Micro LED display for all its products including its iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
