Bharti Airtel has launched India's first 5G FWA (fixed-wireless access) service. The company has named its new broadband service Xstream AirFiber. Xstream AirFiber has been initially made available for only two cities – Delhi and Mumbai. The company says that after taking feedback from these two cities, Airtel will plan to launch this service widely.

A wide launch will be done based on feedback
Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal has said that the main challenge in scaling up 5G fixed-wireless access in the current scenario is the cost of CPE (customer premises equipment). So, after taking feedback from both these cities (Delhi and Mumbai), Airtel will plan for a wider launch of this service.

What is Airtel Xstream Airfibre?
Bharti Airtel said that Airtel Xstream AirFiber is a plug-and-play device that supports Wi-Fi 6 technology and provides users with wide indoor coverage. With Xstream AirFiber you get one FWA device that you can take with you and connect multiple devices on the go. 64 devices can be connected to this device at the same time.

Plant price
For starters, the telco is offering only one category of high-speed plan, which comes with 100 Mbps speed. The price of the 100 Mbps Airtel Xstream AirFiber plan is going to be Rs 799 per month. Let us tell you that the price of the 100 Mbps speed plan of Airtel Xstream Fiber is also the same.
