The government has allayed those apprehensions and said that the future of the Agniveers who are recruited into the armed forces will be completely secure. Confusion- Not discussed with former military officers?
Fact- Discussed in detail with former army officers for the last two years. This proposal was prepared by the military officers in the Military Officers Department. This department has been constituted by the government itself. Many former military officers have accepted and appreciated this plan. That is, the apprehensions about the Agneepath scheme and Agniveers are baseless. The army should also be kept away from politics.
Myth- Agniveer will be a threat to society and will join the terrorists?
Fact- This is an insult to the values and ideals of the Indian Army. The youth who wear the uniform for 4 years will remain committed to the country for the rest of their lives. Even today, there are thousands of people who have retired from the army, who have all the skills but they do not join the anti-national forces.
Confusion - Will there be an effect on the brotherhood in the regiment?
Fact- No changes are being made in the regimental system. Rather, it will be strengthened as the most outstanding firefighters will be selected and this will only further strengthen the internal synergy of the unit.
Confusion- Will this adversely affect the capability of the three wings of the army?
Fact- Most countries have such short-duration services. That is, it has already been tested and is considered to be the best system for the young and flamboyant army.
The number of Agniveers recruited in the first year will be only 3 percent of the Armed Forces. Apart from this, the performance of Agniveers will be checked before re-recruitment in the army after 4 years. In this way, the army will get tried and tested people for the supervisory rank.
Myth - future of firefighters insecure?
Fact- There is a scheme of financial packages and loans from the bank for those who want to become an entrepreneur. Those who want to study further will be given a certificate equivalent to class 12th and there will be a bridging course for further studies.
Those who want to do jobs will be given priority in recruitment in CAPF i.e. Central Armed Police Forces and State Police. Many opportunities for their jobs are being opened in other sectors as well.
Will there be fewer opportunities for the youth due to the confusion- Agneepath?
Fact- On the contrary, there will be an increase in job opportunities in the army for the youth. In the coming years, the recruitment of Agniveers in the Army will increase to three times the current level.
