The number of poor and economically weak people in the country is very high. These people have to face many problems while living life. On the other hand, if these people get some kind of major disease. In such a situation, a mountain of calamities falls on them. Due to poverty, these people do not get even basic health facilities properly. Given this problem, a few years ago, the Government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Under this scheme, the government is providing an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh to poor people. On the other hand, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given a big gift to the Ayushman card holders. In Gujarat, now the limit of Ayushman Bharat scheme has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

Gujarat Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel has launched this initiative during a program in Gandhinagar. Under this new rule of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, even after getting treatment in other states, the benefit of insurance cover of ten lakh rupees will be available.

The Health Minister of Gujarat also informed about the people who have Ayushman cards. They can now get surgery, kidney, heart, liver, and cochlear transplants done at a cost of up to Rs 10 lakh.

Apart from this, he also informed that 2027 government hospitals, 803 private and 18 central government hospitals in the state are authorized to do PMJAY-MA treatment and surgeries.
