One such scheme is Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), which was launched by the Ministry of Supply and Consumer Affairs on December 25, 2000. This scheme provides vital assistance to the most vulnerable sections of the society. Let us know the complete details about this scheme-

Beneficiary Assistance: Under AAY, beneficiaries get Antyodaya ration card, which allows them to get essential food supplies.

Ration Allocation: Each beneficiary can receive up to 35 kg of ration monthly, which includes:

20 kg wheat

15 kg rice

Subsidized Pricing: The scheme provides food grains at highly subsidized rates:

Wheat at ₹2 per kg

Rice at ₹3 per kg

Target Audience: The program primarily targets individuals and families who have no stable source of income or who are living below the poverty line.

Annual Income: Families with an annual income of up to ₹15,000.

Old Age Pensioners: Senior Citizens receiving pension benefits

Small and Marginal Farmers: People engaged in agriculture with limited land.

Landless Labourers: Individuals without land ownership.

Disabled Persons: Differently abled individuals in need of assistance.

Widows and Dependents: Widows who need financial assistance.

Rural Artisans and Craftsmen: Skilled workers looking for livelihood support in rural areas.
