Now the fees for Aadhaar enrollment and Aadhaar update have been fixed. However, if an Aadhaar cardholder is asked to pay an additional amount for an Aadhaar update or enrolment, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has suggested three options to address their concerns. In other words, if an employee demands extra money to update your Aadhaar, you can lodge your complaint in three ways.
These three ways are – Call the toll-free number 1947 and register your complaint, write an email to help@uidai.gov.in, or if the Aadhaar card user is familiar with the use of computers, they can contact you regarding the matter. You can directly file a complaint online. They can directly log in to UIDAI's link - rent.uidai.gov.in/file-complaint.
UIDAI said that new Aadhaar enrollment and MBU (5 and 15 years) are free. Fees for updating Aadhaar: ₹50 for demographic update and ₹100 for biometric update (with or without demographic update) are specified.
So, it is clear from the UIDAI tweet that in case of a change of address on an Aadhaar card or other updates or seeking additional payment for Aadhaar enrolment, one can directly contact the Aadhaar authorities. They can call the toll-free number 1947 or send an email to help@uidai.gov.in to register their complaint.
