This decision of the government will be of great benefit to the employees and pensioners of the state. According to the information given by the government, this increase in dearness allowance will be effective from July 2022.
Increase in DA of central employees
After this announcement by the government, the DA of Meghalaya employees increased from 28 percent to 32 percent from July 2022. Earlier on September 29, the central government had approved increasing the dearness allowance by 4 percent. Now DA at the rate of 38 percent has started coming into the accounts of 50 lakh central employees and 62 lakh pensioners.

Significantly, before this, the central government had also increased the dearness allowance of the employees. Not only this, looking at the AICPI figures that have come so far, in the new year i.e. January of 2023, once again the DA of central employees is expected to increase.
Central employees currently get a 38 percent dearness allowance. Apart from the central government, many state governments have also increased the dearness allowance. These include Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, UP, Karnataka, Punjab, Assam, etc.
Now the Meghalaya government has taken this decision.
