Tax saving information
Those taxpayers who have selected the Old Tax Regime and want to save tax, then they have the last chance to invest in a tax-saving plan. He can avail of tax benefits by investing in any tax saving plan till March 31, 2024.

Under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act 1961, many schemes provide tax benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. There are many tax saving plans like Provident Fund (PPF), Equity-Linked Saving Scheme (ELSS), and Term Deposit (FD), investing in which taxpayers can save tax.

Updated ITR filing
This is the last chance for the taxpayer to file an updated income tax return (deadline to file an updated income tax return for FY21). The taxpayer should complete this work before March 31, 2024.

If taxpayers have missed filing the return or have not given any information about income, then they have the last chance.

TDS filing
Taxpayers will have to issue a TDS Certificate. In this, they will have to give information about tax deductions deducted under various sections. The taxpayer will also have to provide information about the Filing Challan Statement.

Minimum balance maintenance
Investors investing in PPF or Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana will have to maintain a minimum balance in the account before March 31, 2024. If he does not deposit the minimum amount within the financial year, his account will be frozen from April 1, 2024.

Let us tell you that if the account gets deactivated then the investor will not get the other benefits along with the tax benefit. To reactivate the account, the user will have to pay a penalty of Rs 50 per year and deposit the minimum amount.

FASTag KYC
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given the deadline to update FASTag KYC as 31 March 2024. Fastag users who have not yet done KYC should complete this work as soon as possible. Users who do not get Fastag KYC done will not be able to recharge Fastag after March 31.
