Lucknow Supergiants fast bowler Mohsin Khan said that if he had not gone to the doctors at the right time, his hand could have been amputated. Mohsin had bowled a brilliant last over against Mumbai Indians in the IPL match on Tuesday which helped the team win. Mumbai needed 11 runs in the last over to win. There were aggressive batsmen like Tim David and Cameron Green at the crease, but Mohsin gave only five runs.
Blood clots were frozen
Left-arm fast bowler Mohsin had undergone shoulder surgery last year. He had a blood clot in his left shoulder and was ruled out of the entire home season because of it. Apart from this, he could not play even in the opening matches of the IPL last year. Mohsin said, 'My confidence was broken by playing cricket. I used to try many times, then I was able to raise my hand and then I could not straighten up. It was a medical ailment. Whenever I remember that time of mine, I get scared. I was told by the doctors that if I had delayed the surgery for one more month, my hand might have to be amputated. I would only say that this disease should not happen to any person. It was a strange disease. My arteries were clogged. There were clots of blood in them.
Have seen hard times
Mohsin said, 'I have seen very difficult times before and after the surgery. Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, Rajiv Shukla, Lucknow Supergiants, Gautam Gambhir, and my family, all of them have supported me in difficult times.
Happy to see me play
Mohsin said, 'My father was discharged from the hospital on Monday as he had suffered a brain stroke. He was admitted to ICU for 10 days. I was playing for them. I visited him in the hospital and told him that he would be fine and would watch me play. He must have been very happy to see me playing.
Mohsin had a great last season in the IPL. He took 14 wickets in nine matches. After this, he had a shoulder injury. Then got away from cricket for a long time. He was not fully fit even in the current season of IPL. This was his second IPL match of this season against Mumbai.
